I’m Ashley, but you can call me Ms. G.

Finding my
“teacher voice”
Using your “teacher voice” often has a negative connotation, but your voice is one of the most wonderful gifts entrusted to you; you should use it to help others. I am using my teacher voice to help and serve you! I am using my teacher voice to help you find YOUR voice!
I am offering tutoring, mentoring, instructional coaching, resources, tips, tricks, tools, and strategies on this account to
(1) help students develop their growth mindsets, overcome failure, perform better in school, recognize their passions, and appreciate the importance of life-long learning to accomplish their BIGGEST DREAMS!
(2) help new teachers surpass “just surviving” their first year in easy, manageable steps with personalized help and guidance along the way!
How I actually found “my teacher voice” is an interesting tale of failure, self-reflection, self-education, and resiliency as I transitioned from Biomedical Engineering and Material Science to a career in Science and ESL/Bilingual Education.
How can I serve you?
For students:
One of my favorite parts of teaching is using engineering ideas to help develop students’ growth mindsets.
I’m here to help your students not only be successful in their current classes, but also be successful for the rest of their career by incorporating soft skills into each tutoring session. Your student and I will cover the critical content, yes, but we will also cover high-yield study habits, effective time management, goal-setting strategies, and more!

For new teachers:
One of my favorite parts of teaching is…

"I was only taking Chem because I had to, but Ms. G made Chemistry very enjoyable. I actually started to enjoy learning in that class and now I am taking AP Chem next year. That is something I never thought I would do."

"Ms. G knew the material very well, was easy to talk to, and helped whenever I asked for help."

"I learned a lot though when I'd ask her a question and she would explain the concept. She asked clarifying questions, I would tell her what I didn’t understand, and she would help me fill in the gaps."

"Ms. G made me realize that there is no 'I' in STEM. As an introvert, I like doing things alone but Ms. G helped be break out of that mindset and see the value in collaboration."
“Ms. G is probably the best science teacher I have ever had. She made science relatable.”
